Coined by Khai yuen and partly by me, The Ultimate Bass Adagio(TUBA) is the name of the NUSWS Tuba ensemble which will be competing against other ensembles come this Thursday.
"The Ultimate Bass" is pretty self explanatory. When we were thinking up the name and throwing ideas into the air, we got stumped at the last 'A' of TUBA. Khai yuen asked me what musical term started with A and answered it himself. He suggested Allegro - which means fast. This of course did not sit well with me as the music we were playing was slow or Adagio.
And in that shining moment, everything fitted in and Khai yuen's bus came and I walked home while I messaging everyone in the section our new found name. So here's a thank you to Khai yuen and of course the section for putting in all the hard work. Gambatte!
