Youtube symphony orchestra

This is very interesting.

from youtube.com/symphony

We invite musicians from around the world to audition for the YouTube Symphony Orchestra. Your video entries will be combined into the first ever collaborative virtual performance, and the world will select the best of you to perform at New York City's Carnegie Hall in April 2009.

So how does the audition go?

There is of course the music itself which is a specially commissioned work. I downloaded the tuba part just for fun.

And then there's a youtube video of the composer himself, Tan Dun, conducting the piece.

I was following the tuba score and I thought my gosh, this could actually work. I remember a advertisement showing a video of a conductor on a laptop conducting an orchestra and this could be just it!

Imagine the possibilities!
