Some of us attended SSO's Spirit of America concert last night. I would have forgotten all about it if not for the organiser reminding me.

In a nutshell, I thought the second half contrasted very well with the more sombre first half especially for Berstein's West Side Story. Flourishes of brass and running violins all made for pretty interesting visuals. The different dance styles also had my feet tapping to the rhythm. Ending off with an encore of Overture to Candide rounded up the evening nicely!
