What really happened...
On Valentine's day this year, I had a date.
Sometimes you can prepare all year for an event and have it fail in front of your eyes. The problem was, I got that feeling then, complete with sweaty palms and a jittery feeling as if you were about to fall into a hole and never come back up.
All in all, the preparation went ok. The scary part was the waiting.
You know in theme parks where they raise this ring of people around a pillar and drop them back down like a sack of potatoes? I've been in one before. And I can safely say that while you are going up and looking down, the first thing that runs through your mind is : I wish I were one of the ones looking up. But then the ring reaches it's peak and stops. That's when a thousand other thoughts cross your mind and you realise that when you look up, there is nothing but the immense blue sky.
On the whole, the affair felt like an examination. It was as though every movement you make, every sight you saw, you got graded. The thing was, the entire sheet was full of mistakes waiting to be ticked off.
"full of mistakes", my date told me, "careless mistakes."
I took the piece of paper from my date who also was my Driving Test instructor and prepared to book another test date.
I reali like your style of writing... haha... So envious of your command of English...
