Laksa @ Sentosa

As Daniel’s enjoying his holiday in Taiwan, I, his guest-blogger, am dutifully and diligently updating his blog. Nope, don’t be mistaken, I’m not complaining. *cough*cough* ;) His “request” came as a pleasant surprise, but not amidst certain levels of anxiety.

You see, while I have written GP essays, reports and news articles, I have never exactly blogged for an audience! (If you’re wondering, my “enigmatic” blog is more for personal venting.)
Therefore…I have soooo many questions.
Who in the world am I writing for??!!!
Who exactly are Daniel’s friends? Could you please kindly identify yourselves?
Must I use “perrrrrfect English”?
Do you need to be entertained by lotsa pics??

Boohoo.

Ok, hence begins my first official post.

I spent a large part of today at Sentosa.
The sun, the sand, the sea…
The amazingly tanned and fit beach-goers…
The beauty of the Orchid Gardens…
But…it was this that made my day…

RASA SENTOSA RESORT's NONYA LAKSA!!!!!!!!!!

While I still think that $15.50++ for the above is too costly, this laksa immediately topped Grace's Laksa ranking!!! 2nd is the now-defunct laksa stall from FMSS about 4 years back. Others worth trying include that at Singapore Recreational Club, and right outside Johor Bahru's custom! Er...if you walk into JB, there's this eating place on your left along the road. Laksa's good, and chicken rice too!

Anyway, back to the RSR's Nonya Laksa. There's no "ham" (cockles! not pork here...), the gravy is fantabulous, fishcake and taupok are yummy, and they even have quail eggs and 4 juicy prawns. Finger Licking Good!

Ben and Jerry’s after lunch.

My cousins indulged in Phish Food: Fish-shaped chocolate, with marshmallows and caramels; my aunt had some coffee ice-cream, and mine was cinnamon-flavoured, with oatmeal cookies. Honestly, I still do prefer Venezia, especially its hazelnut ice-cream!!! BUT, you will be sooooo charmed by the crew at Sentosa’s Ben and Jerry’s. These 2 girls who served us were genuinely friendly, and they gave us generous amount of samples before we decided on our flavours. And that’s not all. We were served water after our ice-cream! Wow. I loveeee good service. =D Cheers!

PS/ 民以食为天! ;)

...grace...
