K-boxing

First off, there's wishing all readers a happy and prosperous Chinese New Year.

By now, most of us should have already bought our new year clothes, cleaned the house and got a stock of Luo Han Guo drinks to "cool down" after eating all the "heaty" but oh-so-wonderful new year goodies. My mother's always making these goodies for giving away.

My friends tell me my mother makes a mean pineapple tart. I tell them well... there's loads from where that came from.

which is more or less true.

Chinese New Year festivities aside, these two weeks have been pretty quiet on my blog , chiefly because I am a little lazy to blog. In the free time that used to be blogging time, My friends and I spent it at Kbox Cineleisure.

Now, I don't know about you, but belting it out in an enclosed room has done wonders for lowering my levels of stress and apparently irritating the hell out of my friends which is just pure fun to watch.

The person that first greets you when you enter is your usher.Don't underestimate him/her because I reckon the maze in Harry Potter's Goblet of Fire is moulded after K boxes winding alleys.

"You're room no. 81"

Always remember to ask them where the toilet is.

Selecting songs at Kbox is done via a remote control which needs some getting used to. For songs that are too high (read: Jay Chou, David Tao and Wang lee hom) there is a button on the remote which controls the pitch. The problem is, once it is changed, the entire song sounds just plain weird.

Enter Bernard, long time K box patron.

The solution, according to him, is the weird panel of buttons lighted up at the bottom of the TV.

Maybe he's right because I couldn't tell the difference.

Usually we go for the K lunch package which includes lunch and a complimentary drink. It is from 11am to 2pm. For the times I have been there, I can safely say that the lunches are decent though at times a tad cold.

However, the really good thing about going to K box is catching up with your favourite stars.

Me? Nah. I don't chase them.

Ok. Maybe a little la.
