It was only 2 days ago that I was chatting with Daniel when he suddenly asked me to babysit his blog while he put his feet up in North Country. I was like, "Whoa! Sure not?" I asked him what he wanted me to blog about, feeling a bit lost as I'm quite a novice. I mean, c'mon... We're not just talking about anyone here. We're talking about the Man! Hehe... Anyway, I feel damn honoured and privileged to be given this task. Well Dan, since you did say to treat it as my own and write anything, here goes:
10.34 pm - It's been 36 hours since I last slept... you heard me right; I've been awake for more that a whole day and my energy levels have dwindled off a long time ago - I'm now running on next to nothing. Eating isn't an option cos my stomach just doesn't function when I'm sleep deprived. The last time I did something like this, I had to bear dire consequences, too unpleasant to go into detail. In short, my body started to fail on me. Thank goodness I'm still OK.
It was a big mistake not to try and get even a little shut-eye during my chalet last night. In the wee hours of the morning an unfortunate turn of events resulted in me summoning my strength to do housework just before packing up and heading home to get ready for a modelling project. Yes peeps, yours truly gets paid to pose and look pretty (damn, I'm so full of it, haha!). You guys must be thinking I'm crazy to go for a photo shoot after staying up for hours on end. And I'm not like Bo either, who has the amazing ability to remain so fresh-faced even after a night of heavy drinking. Thankfully I knew a few makeup 1st aid techniques.
8.30 am was the call time for me to be @ the studio which is in Chinatown. When I got there, the main talent was already dolled up, waiting for the makeup artist to work his magic. He may be a Brazillian, but 1.9m Fielipe doesn't really look like the typical bronzed beach hunk. He's more the suave, fair-skinned, slim young professional, who looks good in a suit because of his broad shoulders and tiny waist.
I am wardrobed by Luke Elijah Lim and made up by Eric Tan, two very prominent individuals in the fashion and media industry. Luke is pint-sized and lean, clean faced and well groomed, very boyish. His eyelashes are neatly curled and I don't know why but his dimples look surgically enhanced to me. It's simply too long and pronounced to be natural. He's just like the typical small boy who never really left home. In fact, his mom was there too! She was in charge of pressing our outfits. Anyway, once all of us were done (7 altogether) we posed for some initial studio shots before proceeding to our shoot location. Raffles Place, OUB Building...the elevator (!!)
The next 4 hours (thereabouts) were spent either waiting for people, things to happen or standing dead still in the car looking away from camera, giving a bored, tired & sian look while Fielipe stood on a platform in the centre with a phone in hand, at his ear. As though he's not tall enough! We must have taken about 40+ shots with various different lightings angles before our British photographer, Kelly, got what he wanted and called it a day. Deep inside, I was relieved and jumping for joy, but I had no energy to literally do so even if I wanted to.
So that's it. One very long day for me that I went through successfully in one piece... I survived! Anyway, this print ad's going to be released either next month or the month after. It's for a new Sony-Ericsson handphone model and is to be circulated around the Asia Pacific region. Apparently Fielipe will appear to be floating - hence the platform - free from the chains of a stressful career as a result of the phone's functionality, while we poor office employees get on with our dour miserable lives. So look out for it yea...
