Strange

I love to go to the library.

I love it even more when there is a promotional period and you can borrow 8 books in a row. Reading them before they are overdue is another question altogether though. Sometimes I think they do this to profit from our fines.

It especially agonises me, when during this period, I can't seem to find a book I like. I have a habit of reading a book and should it be good, proceed to go to other books by the same author. The last few weeks have all given me the same conclusion - I have exhausted my list of good authors.

Just when my world is about to crumble, the library comes up with a heaven-sent in the form of a pamplet.

This was no ordinary pamplet though.

This was a pamplet which bears the title of one of my top ten reads of all time. (Unfortunately though it does not include Betrand Russell's history of western philosophy; I reserve that for sleepless nights. Works like a charm everytime) . And it reccommends titles related to the topics it tackles, of brotherhood, of betrayal and of social class.

I very nearly cried out loud. In the library.




The really good thing about this Fiction Advisory Service is that not only does it provide a short review and synopsis of the books, it tells you where to find them.

Talking about finding books, I reckon the very best time to go to the library is in the morning. Then, the shelves are neatly arranged , the place is calm and quiet and best of all, there are no queues anywhere.Not at the counter, not at the borrowing stations, not even in the toilets.

I felt like a kid all over again searching for these books. And in the process of looking, I spied a book I have wanted to read since a long time ago .


Nothing strange.

Yeah man.

Oh no. Luckily no promotion , if not sure overdue one.
