Conquering the TreeTop Walk in MacRichie

Taken by the ranger who was originally in the shed behind us

Together with my 2i/c Qi Cai(top pic, second from left), we tackled the slopes and arrived at the canopy with little more than grumbling stomachs. Panoramic views aside, due caution must be paid to our very distant cousins who roam around the area.

monkey business

this one nearly got me
In the rest stop just before we made for the actual TreeTop Walk, the monkeys ambushed me.(from behind , might I add) In the ensuing fierce and intense struggle for my bag (of which Erina has a harrowing account in her blog) , I eventually escaped unscathed. So why did they attack only me?

And I thought they were only joking when I read the notice a seconds before the monkeys robbed me. The plastic bag was actually a trash bag which I tied to my bag.
Shortly after we completed the walk across the canopy, it started to rain.

It was a one way ticket of (which seemed like) endless flights of stairs to a rest hut.

I was quite sian because despite reminding the others to bring their umbrellas, I didn't and ended up with only my jungle cap. When we finally reach the hut, it was still raining quite heavily and we camped there for an hour or so.

The truth is, there is so much to take in on the walk itself.

say this fast: great red ants

At the end of the trip, we had a nice and fulfiling dinner at Din Tai Fung. Man, the Xiao Long Baos were very good. As was the fried rice.

So if you have time to spare, give the treetop walk a visit! Details on how to get there, here

The team
Tuba ensemble at La salle
Truth be told, I was expecting a little more out of the SIA-LASALLE college of the arts. Walking around the school felt a little like fright night in orientation camps, except that for LASALLE it's every single night.

Somehow I expected the school to be bigger, more posh and maybe a little more inviting. The performance by the Phil winds Tuba ensemble was good though.
I think one of the more memorable ones is the tuba solo with piano, Salut D'amour.
If I can play that song, I might consider playing it as a proposal to my future girlfriend. That of course being a big if. But it is very romantic no?
They also played Bugler's holidays on the euphoniums and tubas and other march and christmas pieces. It was all in all a very nice concert.
Bandfest 2006
....
Hmm then I think I should ask Aaron to play that song to whoever he's gonna court. Or maybe he has a girlfriend already, I'm not sure. Haha. Whatever.
