Just so that people don't think I spend 3/4s of my day mopping around the workplace with a clipboard giving every body and any body a cold hard, icy stare, here are some nuggets of happy memories.
1. The monkeys really like me. In fact, I swear I saw one wave to me just this morning! I wanted to reciprocate but it had already diverted it attention to scratching its armpit.
2. Since most of the information here is hush-hush, top-secret, if-I-tell-you-I-need-to-kill-you kind of level, I usually tell people who ask about my work that it's classified information - which inevidently makes them thirst for more and makes me look cooler than Iron man(which is a really cool show by the way).
3. The aunties here all think that I am some kind of scholar and accord me respect just short of reverence. Of course, I try to explain but they always brush it off as humility. I think it may have to do with me bringing a thick textbook somewhere in the first week.
4. My superiors are really nice people. In fact, one printed me a list of healthy fruits I can eat to prevent various diseases which I thought was a little weird. He gets an A for effort though.
5. Because of the lack of distractions, e.g. handphone, mp3 player, youtube, imeem and all chat and mail websites amongst others( with the exception of NUS mail, hah! Don't think they expected that), I find myself tunning in to nature more and more.
Instead of imagining me typing out this post in an office try a glass house with the soft chirping of birds and the gentle swaying of trees. Very zen.
