In demonstrating a point about quantum theory, our lecture gave the whole lecture theater diffraction gratings. Yes. For us to take home. A diffraction grating separates light into different wavelengths . My friends may not be overly impressed but I was in possession of an experiment waiting to happen.

Basically I had to take the picture at night as I wanted a point light source without it being too diffuse .The light source in question was actually a night light. In this case, white light is separated into its component colours. Sweet.
