" Node 36 greatest "Awards

Voice-over: Welcome to yet another " Node 36 greatest" Awards. As you all know Node 36(which I am in) was on exercise the for the entire last week and tonight's awards are to give due recognition to those who did the Node proud. Without Further Ado, let's invite on stage, ex Channel U host of "Yummy Papadam King" , Muthusamy and ex Channel I weather girl Kate!

* applause*

Muthu: I say Kate, you look wonderful tonight.

Kate: I know it la Muthu. I used the latest and most expensive channel perfume and you know this Dress ?I bought from...

Muthu:*ahem* As I was saying the winners of the awards given tonight have been mulled over by some of the more influential superiors in our Node.

Kate: *sulks* ( camera changes to close up of Muthu's nose)

Muthu:* somewhat apprehensively* Why don't we give a brief introduction of the judges?

Muthu: For Judge No. 1 , we have Slacker Staff Dexter, winner of Best Node warrant for two years running.

( close-up of staff Dexter picking his nose and eating his nose wax)

Kate: (still sulking but generally OK after repeated offers of a Louis Vuitton bag) For Judge 2 we have, the never failing Captain Planet, who was recently voted top 50 people to take note in Singapore.

(close up of Captain Planet saluting to the camera)

Muthu: Last but not least we have Lt colonel Heng, operations planning extraordinaire.

( close up of Lt Col Heng drumming his fingers on the table, looking non-plussed.)

Kate: Many a times we fail to see the importance of timing. This first award is given to the Team which has as of now, never failed to meet a timing.

Muthu: and the winner is..

(drum roll)

Muthu: 3SG Happy-Go-Lucky

Kate: Let us see his outstanding performance !

Clip:

Happy Go Lucky: Wah.. Boh liao le. Call us come for exercise for nothing.

Rest of team: Why le?

HGL: Our Equipment all spoil le, cannot set up wor. Even my power cable also faulty, cannot power up even.

Rest of team: really ah? Then when the exercise end?

HGL: Not very fast ah, in about 5 days time.

Rest of team: wah. Then what we do from do till then?

HGL: Pray that next exercise also like that lor, then can always meet the deadline because we ready to go back even before the exercise starts man.

Rest of team: *shocked*

Muthu: Wasn't that an inspirational performance by 3SG Happy-Go-Lucky. He is the shining example and an exemplary soldier. Moving on, we have the Best Node Warrant Award.

Kate: Without him, I'm sure the Node would be sure to collapse. Just to give you a hint he likes to smoke every 5 minutes. The award goes to..

(drumroll)

Kate: Staff Tong!

Muthu: We us take a look at his contributions to the Node.

Clip:

Tong( while smoking behind vehicle) : Wah Jim. Slacking here when you should be manning communications at your vehicles ah! Boots off somemore. You really trying your luck right?

Jim: No la staff. Not my shift ma. Come join us ah staff. The ventillation duct here very powerful, like air-con sia. Very Shiok.

Tong: Argh! Jim help me Jim!I think I sprained my arm while climbing up.

Jim: ?

Muthu: Staff Tong has since been sent to NUH and is now on Medical Leave. The last time we saw him, he was driving his Nissan with one hand. Sources has comfirmed that he has been training his left hand as his new smoking hand.

With the uncertainty and turmoil around the world today, I feel obliged to, on my part, share a poem I found on the internet on Cheeky's( A friend of a friend of xiaxue, who incidentally is Singapore Best Blog Author) blog.

A POEM OF HOPE

Composed by a young girl in Belarus, Russia, near the site of the Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster Area.

One song can spark a moment,
One flower can wake the dream.
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring.
One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lifts a soul.
One star can guide a ship at sea,
One word can frame the goal.
One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights a room,
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh will conquer gloom.
One step must start each journey,
One word must start each prayer.
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch can show you care.
One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true.
One life can make the difference.
You see, it's up to YOU!
