A rather belated letter on Valentine's Day

Dear Blog-0-sphere,

I hope you all enjoyed yourselves during Valentine's day, because I didn't. My Unit was kind enough grant us a night's off last monday but I squandered it on some guy eating the Buddy meal in KFC. I actually spent it with a guy- the horrors.

*sigh*

Why only one guy you all ask? Ah... well.

That's because the entire platoon save those on guard duty( read: me) and those who didn't volunteer for some exercise( read: him) got to stay out. Apparently, they found Jurong Point as dead as a doorknob and promptly evacuated to Orchard leaving me with him. Make the best of the situation you say? I tried you know. But spending it with someone who had gay tendencies especially on the Big V was a lot less enjoyable than one would have thought.

" Buy me a rose le." he said after finishing our buddy meal, then playful grabbed my hand.

I very nearly slapped him with a piece of unfinished Original Recipe chicken but the KFC cleaning auntie came in time to impede my misendeavour.

I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night with my shirt drenched in prespiration just replaying the image in my head. It is a living nightmare.

Couples past us and sighed as if grieving for us. Roses found us at every turn. The air was thick with perfume , love and romance. Even at the library, we were bombarded by couples reading titles like the Joy of Sex and The idiot's guide to Pregnacy. For the first time there, I actually found it hard to breathe.

I considered starting an application like xiaxue's blog you know. I even considered submitting an application. But alas, I could not make myself do it. I was above this demeaning "audition". I look at the list of guys who sent in their proposals and winch in disgust. We all have our own ways, don't we? Fortunately for me, I was better off without it.

I concluded the entire V day episode by messaging some of my closer female friends, which consisted of an amazing number of exactly 2.

Only one reply came back.

P.s. This entry was blogged in the library.
P.s.s The computer at home cannot be started because my sister said it apparently stopped starting up.
P.s.s.s Last week, the internet connection went down and she said the same thing.
