Same Old Brand New Blog

You can stop gapping at the new entry right about now.

I know it has been nearly month since the last entry. Some readers might even be rejoicing about the demise of my blog . To this group of people, so sorry. Better luck next time. For those who have been constantly hitting the refresh button I say to you " Welcome back! "

So what happened? Well..basically my internet went down. For two weeks I had to play minesweeper on my computer. I assure you, I am now quite a pro.

During this period I called Singnet Technical Support a total of about 562,346 times . Yes, they called me to complete a survey at the end of every one. Basically they could not detect my modem which meant that:

(a) my modem was spoilt OR
(b) Singnet's lines were spoilt

The thing is they could get a linesman to come down to my house, but if the problem were to lie inside my house then a flat fee of 20 dollars will be imposed. Being the thrifty Singaporean that I decided to check whether if the modem was the problem in the first place.

Therefore I got a new plan and a spanking new modem. Why? Apparently, I was still paying a 57 dollar bill for the 512 plan which currently is on a 47 dollar promotion. So I signed on for two more years.

The new modem still didn't work things out and so I made an appointment with the linesman, which landed me another week interne-less.

Last week, I was officially made a member of the online community once more.

Things have changed since last time though.Besides have a new modem, I now have:

About time!

I had my very very first driving lesson today on the Roads of Singapore. I think it went quite well, considering the fact that no one horned at me. My instructor is a rather old fellow by the name of Mr. Jonah. Recommended by none other than my cousin, Mark, he took all of half an hour to show me how good he was.

"See here, Sharon Lim, 4 points," he said, pointing to a black tattered book.

"Ah-ha! Candice Chua, 10 points."

" All passed the test this week you know. Never bluff you one!"

The next half an hour was spent in silent mediation.

No la, of course not. I drove around in a rather seluded roundabout, which more or less explains the horn-less drive, but that's besides the point.

(b) A MP3 player

A creative Zen Neeon to be exact. My mother told me she knew a friend working in the top management of Creative and could get a discount on its products. some time this week she told me she got me one . Thinking it was a creative Zen Micro, I was giddy with excitement. I almost went ahead to Harvery Norman to get my new toy a Silicon Skin.

It turned out to be a creative Zen Neeon, but who's complaining?
