Smiling orchid

Yesterday was my grandma's birthday. Like the good boy that I am, I wanted to buy a cake from the nearby confectionary, smiling orchid.

I is part of the four million smiles campaign

The confectionary in question is a weird affair that has more room for their cash registers and tables than room for displaying their cakes. I almost left the shop thinking that the only cakes they sold were mooncakes, but then the assistant approached me.

Assistant: Looking for anything in particular?

Me: Do you have any small cakes?

Assistant: Got!

Me: Erm... for how many people?

Assistant: 8

Now, this is a problem. Given that my I had done my mathematics right, only 3 people were going to eat this cake. My grandfather,my grandmother and I. I thought about it for a while and decided so be it, just buy lor. The most just give the karang guni who comes around every so often.

Me: What flavours are there?

Assistant: Vanilla and chocolate.

Me: Ok. Give me the vanilla one please.

Assistant: Sorry we only have one type

Me: I thought you said you had vanilla and chocolate?

Assistant: Ya. Vanilla and chocolate in the same cake.

I very nearly bought the mooncakes then.

When I reached home, however, my grandma had already prepared a surprise for me. Lying on the dinner table were several strips of otah. I forget that fishes come in many forms.

Luckily this time I hungry.
