Vista

Those salivating over Windows Vista's latest user interface need not do so any longer. With the help of Vista transformation pack from Mr. Windows X one is able to transform a windows XP machine to Vista's latest glass-like look in a matter of minutes. I first read about it in ST's digital life and proceeded to the download site. Smitten by the screenshots on the site, I was not let down when i installed it.

Below are some screenshots from the site itself.

Chio

Very chio

Very very chio.
At first, I thought the see-through effect was quite cool. That was until I fired up my Internet explorer and realised that you could "see through" the window to what was on your desktop. Even reading short texts become a headache. Luckily for us, there is an option to disable it.
The theme matches Microsoft's newest offering, Windows Media Player 11, almost seamlessly. On a side note, I had more fun exploring Media Player 11 then any other edition.
Another interesting thing to note is that once installed, the transformation pack replaces all the default sounds played. That includes the logon tune(which kinda freaked me at first because it's like a woman singing or something and I did the installation at night), shut down music and a new addition- sounds for minimising and maximising windows. I might add that that alone is highly addictive. So addictive in fact that sometimes, I minimise and maximise windows just to hear it. If you do it fast enough,I swear it almost sounds like waves crashing together in the sea.
And plus point is that it changes the fonts windows uses for file names, titles in windows, etc. I feel it is much easier on the eyes than the previous font.
In a nutshell, try it. If you don't like it, uninstall it. The writer in digital life assures us that windows XP is preserved and nothing is damaged. For myself, I don't think I'll be using that option soon.
